Valles Marineris International (VMI) will manage development of space exploration technology for Synergy Moon International in India. Dr Jayakumar Venkatesan CEO of VMI is now our Chief Technology Officer and technical project manager for development of Team Synergy Moon's Google Lunar XPRIZE Lunar Rover, Pushpaka Vimana. This rover will be equipped with a 360 degree camera to provide a VR interface for Earth based explorers. The rover feature an internet based control system that will allow tourists, scientist and explorers to take control of the rover for virtual excursions on the moon. Dr. Venkatesan and his team will host Space Kidz India and work with them to develop the rover's communications and camera subsystems.



GLXP Competition

Team SYNERGY MOON is competing in The Google Lunar X PRIZE, a $40 million international competition to safely land a robot on the surface of the Moon, travel 500 meters over the lunar surface, and send images and data back to the Earth. All teams must be at least 90% privately funded. There are currently 5 registered teams working toward landing on the Moon and completing the mission objectives. $5.25 million for Milestone Prizes and the $1 million Diversity Prize have already been awarded. The winning team will be awarded $20 million. The second team to complete the mission will be awarded $5 million. Another $5 million will be awarded in bonus prizes. The mission has to be completed and adjudicated before March 31, 2018.
